They Go Like You Ride Them (So Let's Ride Them Better!)
Choose the focus area that best aligns with your goals, and leave inspired, empowered, and with a clear understanding of how to extend the benefits of this training over the long-run.
Session sizes are limited to ensure plenty of one-on-one attention from Jess.
>>> OPTION A: Back to Basics (Sat. and Sun. 9 am-12 pm) ***NEW***
- Our "Back to Basics" session is designed for anyone who wants to rebuild a more solid foundation with their horse. We'll start by diagnosing underlying issues that may be holding you (and your horse) back. Then, Jess will help you reestablish trust, respect, and understanding through groundwork exercises. Finally, for those who feel comfortable, you'll keep building on what you've learned in the saddle.*
- This class is also great for folks who want to get their horses legged up after winter, are dealing with behavioral issues like spookiness and separation anxiety, or want to "start over" after a bad experience.
*Riding is optional in the "Back to Basics" clinic. If you feel more comfortable working with your horse from the ground for the time being, that's OK!
>>> OPTION B: Effective Horsemanship (Sat. and Sun. 1 pm-4 pm)
- Every ride, you're either schooling or "unschooling" your horse. Too often, we focus on how our horses look vs. whether our aids (and our horse's response) are accurate and effective. No matter your riding style or skill level, no matter whether you're riding a green horse or trained schoolmaster, this session helps you refocus on what's truly important.
- Jess will share proven building blocks of excellent horses and riders and show you how to add them to every ride, including clear aids and expectations, seat and leg control, gait quality, rider mindset, and much more. You'll also be encouraged to share specific issues you and/or your horse have been experiencing, and Jess will provide actionable advice and exercises to help you troubleshoot and remove your roadblocks (e.g. trailer loading, shying, dullness).
Vaccines: ALL riders need to send proof of Flu/Rhino and negative Coggins. Strangles are not required unless there is a local outbreak. Riders will be informed if such an event occurs.
