What's Happening This Weekend
Choose the focus area that best aligns with your goals, and leave inspired, empowered, and with a clear understanding of how to extend the benefits of this training over the long-run.
Session sizes are limited to ensure plenty of one-on-one attention from Jess.
>>> OPTION A: Focus on Fundamentals (Sat. and Sun. 9 am-12 pm)
- This is designed for riders who have noticed some "gaps" in their horse's training (or their own!) and want to shore up their foundation.
- We'll begin with honest assessments of the challenges you're facing and groundwork exercises that put you on the road to success. Then, you'll move into the saddle and work with Jess to build your confidence, translate groundwork wins into mounted progress, develop the skills you need to advance step-by-step.
- This class is great for folks who want to get their horses legged up after time off, are dealing with behavioral issues like spookiness and separation anxiety, or want to "start over" after a bad experience.
- This is also the perfect follow-up for anyone who attended one of our Back to Basics clinics!
>>> OPTION B: Cow Work (Sat. and Sun. 1 pm-5 pm)
- You don't have to live on a ranch to enjoy the art of working cattle -- that's why we welcome newcomers into this discipline and give them a taste of why so many cowboys and cowgirls get hooked!
- Whether you've dreamed about working cows or want to improve your existing skills—this class is for you. Jess will teach you (and your horse) how to safely and effectively work with cows... and enjoy the ride! This gentle introduction (or refresher) to cow work will help horses and riders build a solid foundation that will serve them for years to come.
- Best of all, the skills gained during this workshop extend to all other riding disciplines. So, whether you simply want to give cow work a try for a weekend, or need a little "tune up," the focus, leg control, and seat control from this clinic will improve your riding experience every time you put your foot in the stirrup.
- NO prior cow working experience needed (for horse or rider). Riders with previous cow working experience are also welcome and will be coached on higher-level maneuvers. Cows are provided by Jess Holloway and humanely cared for and not overworked.
Vaccines: ALL non-boarders need to send proof of Flu/Rhino and negative Coggins. Strangles vaccine is highly recommended (due to local confirmed cases circulating). Send paperwork to [email protected] by 14 days prior to the clinic date.
