What's Happening This Weekend
Choose the focus area that best aligns with your goals, and leave inspired, empowered, and with a clear understanding of how to extend the benefits of this training over the long-run.
Session sizes are limited to ensure plenty of one-on-one attention from Jess.
>>> OPTION A: Effective Horsemanship (Sat. and Sun. 9 am-12 pm)
- Every ride, you're either schooling or "unschooling" your horse. Too often, we focus on how our horses look vs. whether our aids (and our horse's response) are accurate and effective.
- No matter your riding style or skill level, no matter whether you're riding a green horse or trained schoolmaster, this session helps you refocus on what's truly important.
- Jess will share proven building blocks of excellent horses and riders and show you how to add them to every ride, including clear aids and expectations, seat and leg control, gait quality, rider mindset, and much more.
- You'll also be encouraged to share specific issues you and/or your horse have been experiencing, and Jess will provide actionable advice and exercises to help you troubleshoot and remove your roadblocks (e.g. trailer loading, shying).
>>> OPTION B: Cow Work Level 2 (Sat. and Sun. 1 pm-5 pm)
- You don't have to live on a ranch to enjoy the art of working cattle -- that's why we welcome newcomers into this discipline and give them a taste of why so many cowboys and cowgirls get hooked!
- Whether you've dreamed about working cows or want to improve your existing skills—this class is for you. Jess will teach you (and your horse) how to safely and effectively work with cows... and enjoy the ride! This gentle introduction (or refresher) to cow work will help horses and riders build a solid foundation that will serve them for years to come.
- Best of all, the skills gained during this workshop extend to all other riding disciplines. So, whether you simply want to give cow work a try for a weekend, or need a little "tune up," the focus, leg control, and seat control from this clinic will improve your riding experience every time you put your foot in the stirrup.
- Some prior cow working experience is encouraged (for horse or rider), but you don't need to be an expert! Cows are provided by Jess Holloway and humanely cared for and not overworked.
Vaccines: ALL non-boarders need to send proof of Flu/Rhino and negative Coggins. Strangles vaccine is highly recommended (due to local confirmed cases circulating). Send paperwork to [email protected] by 14 days prior to the clinic date.
