What's Happening This Weekend
Session sizes are limited to ensure plenty of one-on-one attention from Jess.
Sat. and Sun. 10 am- 4 pm
- IMPORTANT: This clinic is based on RMBA-style "Ranch Horse Competitions," which combine a reining pattern and boxing and/or fencing a cow.
- Working Cow Horse / Ranch Horse is one of the fastest-growing disciplines, and it's no wonder why. This low-stress "sampler" style sport focuses on developing truly well-rounded horses.
- Even if you've never tried Working Cow Horse Competitions before, this fun session is for you. Jess will break down a typical pattern, work with you on each dry work (i.e. no cattle) activity, and ensure your horse is a willing and dependable partner in all situations.
- Improving the quality of your horse's gaits, mastering speed variations within gaits, accuracy, and reining maneuvers like spins, stops, and circles will set you up for success.
- When it's time to work cattle, Jess will adjust to each rider's skill and comfort level to help you and your horse be comfortable and proficient controlling a cow.
- At the end of the clinic, you'll have the chance to perform a full pattern (dry work + cow work) to see how far you've come!
- NO prior cow working experience needed (for horse or rider). Riders with previous cow working experience are also welcome and will be coached on higher-level maneuvers.
- Cows are provided by Jess Holloway and humanely cared for and not overworked.
Vaccines: ALL non-boarders send proof of Flu/Rhino (within 6 months) and negative Coggins. Strangles vaccine is highly recommended, but not required unless there's an outbreak. Send paperwork to [email protected] by 14 days prior to the clinic date.
